What is your biggest acheivement so far in swimming? 17th on 200m Br at nationals 04
Who are your swimming idols? liesel jones is amazing, she has a unique stroke and just keeps pushing the bounderies further and further. i also admire adrian Turner. although he's stopped swimming now, i remember him being seriously ill and watched him recover and slowly get back to fitness and eventually maek it to the olympics. although he didnt't do too well there, he showed that you can't let anything get in the way of your dreams. it was remebering how he did it that has helped me get through the past few years after being seriously ill myself.
Do you have any lucky routines/mascotts you use at competitions? well i have my cap which i like to wear but thats just out of habit. as for routines well before a race i like to crouch behind the bloke and focus my breathing before splashing myself and then gettin on the block.
What do you enjoy most about swimming? 2 things. the feeling you get when you're swimming well and after doing a pb. and having a laff with all my mates
Favourite food: choclate
Favourite drink: apple juice
Favourite music: a bit of everything i guess, but in the famous word of all murray- you can't beat a bit of QUEEN!
Favourite films: all time favourite has to be star wars, episode 3 to be precise but i love them all
A bit about you: well about the club im known as Boardman to most or the one who knows whats going on (due to my mum having been competition sec.) and i guess also for my hats.
Apart from being extremly commited to swimming and being a memeber of the club for 10 yrs, beleive it or not i have another life outside of the club.
I'm an explorer scout and am part of the salford district explorers. being a scout brings with it differnet experiences for example last year we visited the world scout jamboree and met other scouts from around the world!
I've been involved in the scout movement all my life as my parents used to run a cub group and its a part of me i couldn't give up and if anyhting it enhances my life and throws up valuable opportunites such as being able to completre the queen's scout and duke of edinburgh awards.
